“Captain America 4”: new trailer and poster are presented at D23

The D23 audience had the chance to watch first-hand this Saturday (9) the new trailer for “Captain America: Brave New World”, the fourth film in the franchise and the first to feature Sam Wilson as the new Captain America. It was presented in a panel with the presence of the actors Anthony Mackie and Danny Ramirez.

Wilson assumes the role of Captain America in “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” released in 2021, when the character needs to team up with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).

In the trailer, we see Isaiah Bradley (Carl Winston Lumbly), one of the Second World War soldiers to receive the super serum that transformed Steve Rodgers in the first film of the franchise. The character was arrested and warns Wilson about the new president Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross, played by Harrison Ford.

In the film, Captain America finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must uncover the motive behind a global plot before the true mastermind sends the entire world into a panic.

During the video, we see more confrontational scenes between the two main characters, including when Ross attacks Wilson saying that he is “not Steve Rodgers”. There are also more appearances by actor Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad” and “Kaleidoscope”) and new scenes of the fight between the main hero and the Red Hulk, who is actually Thunderbolt Ross.

The confrontation was also reinforced in the new poster released at D23, in which we see the villain’s red hand punching Captain America’s shield.

“Captain America: Brave New World” hits theaters in February 2025.
