A car broke into the sidewalk on Buenos Aires Street in downtown Rio de Janeiro, leaving three people injured. The accident occurred around 9:30 am on Wednesday (21). Fire Department teams were immediately triggered from the central barracks.
Among the victims is a street vendor, who suffered light abrasions. Two other people – not identified – were also injured and, according to the firefighters, were referred with minor injuries to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital, in the Center.
Witnesses reported that the driver, who would be a disabled person, tried to dodge a passerby who pushed a load cart. During the maneuver, he lost control of the vehicle, which climbed the sidewalk and almost hit a store. Images recorded moments after the accident show the intense movement on site, which is known by active trade. See below:
The car has been removed by a tow and, so far, there is no updated information about the health status of the victims.
