Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson spoke about several upcoming network updates, one of which will take place this year.
Charles Hoskinson reported that the Chang hard fork is planned for the second quarter of this year. This will be the largest blockchain update since Vasil launches on the mainnet in the fall of 2022.
The hard fork should introduce the concept of governance and interaction in the community, allowing ADA holders to use cryptocurrency to participate in voting regarding the further development of the ecosystem. In addition, there will be a system of delegated representatives and a constitution for Cardano.
Another update to the network will be Ouroboros Leios. This is a new version of the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism, which is designed to increase throughput and transaction speed while maintaining the existing level of decentralization of the blockchain.
Hoskins' statement came in response to a video by blogger Ben Armstrong, known as BitBoy, in which he claims that the Cardano blockchain is dead. BitBoy compared it to Solana and Sui, which fail to take into account the interests of all users and developers.
Previously, the founder of Cardano said that the introduction of traditional financial mechanisms into the cryptocurrency industry contributes to the centralization of digital assets, violating the principles of their operation.
