Cryptocurrency project Cardano has announced its readiness for the largest Vasil update to date. The update should happen closer to midnight from 22 to 23 September.
The Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK) team reported that 39 cryptocurrency exchanges have announced their readiness to switch to the Vasil update, providing 87.59% of liquidity. In addition, more than 98% of the mainnet blocks are generated by nodes with the latest software, which is also ready to be updated. The largest decentralized applications in the Cardano network have also announced their readiness for the upgrade.
The news that Vasil is ready to upgrade significantly increased the number of mentions of the cryptocurrency project in the media. It should be noted that the update was originally planned back in June, but subsequently was repeatedly postponed. At the same time, the launch of Vasil in the test network took place in early July.
Note that the Cardano network has its own update mechanism, which does not require a hard fork. The Vasil update will take place on September 22 at 23:15 Moscow time. At the same time, changes in the Plutus system will only have to be activated on September 27th.
Earlier, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said that after the Vasil update, developers will be able to determine the next steps to develop the project ecosystem.
