Carl Icahn: bitcoin may be suitable for hedging inflation

Billionaire and well-known investor Carl Icahn said that he fears a significant increase in US dollar inflation and Bitcoin may be a solution to save funds.

During an interview with CNBC, Carl Icahn said that he expects a massive financial crisis in the long term, as the US authorities continue to “print money” and this will lead to inflation. At the same time, Icahn’s own investment company Icahn & Company does not plan to invest in digital assets yet.

“We have a lot of really smart guys working for us, but we still don’t understand Bitcoin. I am not saying that this is a good or bad asset, we just do not understand it. And, naturally, we will not invest in an asset that we do not understand. But if inflation rises strongly, then bitcoin may have value. But there are too many variables, it is too difficult to invest in it, ”the entrepreneur emphasized.

Interestingly, in the spring of this year, Karl Icahn talked about the possibility of investing in cryptocurrencies. It seems that he has not yet figured out this type of asset and refrains from investing in bitcoin.
