The city hall of São Paulo, through the Municipal Secretariat of Subprefectures, received 867 entries for parades for the 2022 Street Carnival. According to the city hall, this is the largest number of requests for a street block in Brazil for 2022.
The blocks’ parades will take place in the periods before, during and after Carnival, between February 19th and March 6th. The documentation for qualification of the blocks will be analyzed and published according to the issuance of approvals.
The registration and evaluation stage of the Carnival street blocks is another stage in the city’s planning for next year’s carnival celebrations.
The realization depends on the approval of the Health agencies that assess the epidemiological scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The deadline for the representatives of the blocks to submit the application for registration started on October 19th and ended on the last Friday, on November 5th.
