Carnival 2025: RJ schools show sambas with shows by Belo and Xande de Pilares

The twelve schools in the Rio de Janeiro Carnival Special Group present, this weekend, the sambas that will take to Sapucaí in 2025. The event is, at the same time, a tribute to the National Samba Day — celebrated next Monday (2) — and marks the launch of the CD with the works, which arrived on music platforms in the early hours of this Friday (29).

In addition to the associations, the event will also welcome names such as Belo, Xande de Pilares, Chief of Ramos , Terreiro de Crioulo and Samba da Volta between this Friday (29th) and Sunday (1st). The party will take place in Cidade do Samba and will have free entry as long as one kilo of non-perishable food is donated. The gates will open at 7pm each day.

The program follows the order of the Grupo Especial samba school parades, which, for the first time, will take place on three different nights. From 1984 to 2024, the processions were divided between Sunday and Monday of Carnival; now the elite of Rio’s festivities will also perform on Tuesday.
