Carolina Dieckmann will be the protagonist of “(Des)controle”, a new national feature film

The actress Carolina Dieckmann 46, was announced as the protagonist of “(Lack of) control” a new national film that begins filming in November, in Rio de Janeiro.

Directed by Rosane Svartman, author of soap operas such as “Vai na Fé” (2023), the film is described as a drama which follows the story of the writer Katia Klein 45 – a woman who lives in a creative crisis, overwhelmed with domestic and professional tasks. In search of relief from this difficult time, she loses control, falling into alcoholism.

In a statement sent to the press, Dieckmann says she was impacted by the script from the first reading. “He brings a certain lightness to such a complete and difficult topic. A woman coming to complete imbalance is something I’ve always wanted to do. So, I’m very happy to be in this project. It’s a kind of desired challenge. A dream,” he said.

Co-directed by Carol Minêm, the title was written by Iafa Britz, who wrote the script with Felipe Sholl and Bia Crespo.

“Alcoholism is one of the themes that this film portrays. But he also talks about excesses, compulsion, lack of control. And excessive control, accumulated pressure, so common to the society in which we live. In (Des)controle, we will discover the story of Kátia, who lives on this tightrope. This is a film that will make us laugh, cry and, for sure, we will see ourselves in this character. Or we will see people very close to us.” said Iafa Britz.
