Carrie Underwood, 41, is returning to her roots. The former winner of American Idol American will join the singing competition as a judge in the new season, according to a source close to the show.
The Grammy-winning country superstar will join the ABC reality show as a replacement for Katy Perry, 39 the source told CNN — ABC declined to comment. CNN reached out to a rep for Underwood, but he also did not respond.
