Casa Paloma: the revisited “must taste” cocktail of the season

It is a reinterpretation of Paloma, a great fresh and drinkable classic perfect for the summer season: it is no coincidence that Casa Paloma, the drink created by Tequila Casamigos for this season, it is a candidate to be a cocktail must taste for an aperitif with a sea view.

Tequila, agave syrup and grapefruit soda become in the Casamigos version an idea with a strong identity, designed to enhance the scents of tequila between perfectly harmonized sweet and citrus notes. A few simple ingredients for a convivial cocktailin the true spirit of a tequila (that of the “house of friends”) born “by friends, for friends”: a product obtained thanks to an artisanal manufacturing process, in which the 100% Weber blue agave pulp from Jalisco is harvested after over seven years of maturation, hand-selected for size and quality. The result of a patented manufacturing process is an extremely refined distillate, with over eighty hours of fermentation.

Paloma: history and origins

Exquisitely Mexican, Paloma is an increasingly trendy drink and is rapidly rising in the general public’s preferences. With its enticing and evocative name, the Paloma competes with the Margarita for the title of Mexico’s most popular cocktail.

Apparently he invented it (the origins are not entirely certain) Father Javier Delgado Crownowner and bartender of the La Capilla bar, in the state of Jalisco, and more precisely – needless to say – in the city of Tequila. In reality Corona, in his historic bar that made the history of tequila-based drinks (he invented for example the Batangasa Cuba Libre tequila base), repeatedly denied having invented the Paloma, although he certainly served a lot of them, mixing them with the knife used to cut fruit to give the drink even more fruity aromas.

Legends and stories aside, Paloma is definitely a summer drink, for its aroma and pleasantness, which makes it perfect for cooling off after a long day. Some bartenders sometimes garnish the rim of the Paloma glass with a few grains of salt, but this is not necessary with Casamigos tequila, thanks to its natural silkiness on the palate.
