There was a girl in the passenger seat, next to Matteo Di Pietro, the driver of the Lamborghini SUV who hit the Smart on Wednesday, in Casal Palocco, in which, together with his mother and little sister, little Manuel was travelling, who died at 5 years. The passenger – super witness is called Gaia Notais not part of the youtuber group The Borderline and would have boarded the vehicle as a friend, just one kilometer before the accident, at the insistent request of Di Pietro himself.
There testimony that the girl has already released to the policeas reported by the Corriere della Sera, will be essential to establish the responsibilities of the young youtubers who, on the day of the terrible crash, were engaged in one of the “challenges” that they would post on their YouTube channel: driving for 50 hours in a row. Gaia Nota’s answers will help investigators understand the dynamics, speed and causes of the accident, to understand what happened on board and, among other things, if there was any interference between who was driving the SUV and who was filming the scene, and again who and what was being filmed.
In these hours, the carabinieri are continuing to listen to people informed about the facts, e more than twenty testimonies were transcribed in the minutes by investigators. Among these, there is also that of the mother and daughter who were in a car overtaken by the Lamborghini in Casal Palocco shortly before the collision with the Smart.
TheBorderline channel is still open
TheBorderline channel, however, was not closed: the four creators (Matteo Di Pietro, Vito Loiacono, Giulia Gianandrea and Marco Ciaffaroni) had announced the “interruption of all activities”, but, in fact, not the closure. Their videos are still visible, and subscribers to the channel are 601,000.
Meanwhile, a YouTube spokesman explained that the “demonetization of the channel” is underway. “We are deeply saddened by the tragedy,” he said. «We have removed ads from TheBorderline channel in accordance with our creator liability policy for behavior that is harmful to the YouTube community. Every YouTube creator should remain accountable both on and off the platform. As a result, this channel can no longer make money from advertising.”
