The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested this Thursday (15) producer Bruno de Souza Rodrigues, suspected of killing actor Jeff Machado. It was located in Morro do Vidigal, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The information was confirmed to CNN by the producer’s lawyer, who is taken to the police station this morning.
On June 2, the police arrested Jeander Vinícius da Silva, one of the suspects of killing the actor. Since then, the Whereabouts Discovery Police Station (DDPA) has been looking for Bruno Rodrigues, considered a fugitive from justice.
During testimony, Jeander, who was close to the victim, confessed that he hid the actor’s body, but denied the murder. According to investigations, Bruno, who was also a friend of Jeff, sublet the property where the body was found and managed to move around R$ 5,000 in Jeff Machado’s account after the disappearance was registered at the police station.
Bruno and Jeander would aim to obtain economic advantages from the victim, such as the sale of the property and the car. Investigations continue and the police do not rule out that Jeff Machado was the victim of an ambush, after a false promise of employment at a TV station.

Jeff’s body was found on May 22 in a trunk, buried under two meters of concrete, in the backyard of a house in Rio de Janeiro. He had his arms tied above his head and had wounds on his neck.
Jeff Machado was 44 years old and had been missing since January 2023. At the time, he played a Philistine soldier in the soap opera Reis, shown since March 2022 on Record TV.
Whereabouts Discovery Police officers discovered in May that Jeff was dead, after successfully breaking the telephone secrecy of a suspect in the case.

Maria das Dores Estevão Machado, the actor’s mother, believes that her son may have been the victim of a false job promise at a television station. This is one of the investigation lines of the Whereabouts Discovery Police Station.
According to Jeff’s defense, the Civil Police know that a friend kept the actor’s cards and moved about R$ 5 thousand after the disappearance.
When denouncing the disappearance of his friend, Bruno De Souza Rodrigues told the police that he had the keys to Jeff Machado’s car and house because the actor would do a job in São Paulo. He also appears as the sublessor of the property where the body was found.
