The anguish came to an end on March 5, when Vitória’s body was found in a forest area in Cajamar. The young woman’s body was in advanced state of decomposition and showed signs of violence. A police officer who was at the search site reported that the victim’s body was quite raped. The young woman had her head shaved and without her clothes.
The Cajamar Police Station took responsibility for the investigation, working with various hypotheses for the crime. More than 11 witnesses were heard and two vehicles were seized for expertise. The main line of investigation is that Victoria’s death was for revenge.
Among the suspects, the name of Gustavo Vinicius, ex-boyfriend of Vitória, gained prominence. He even gave testimony at the police station, but was released after the court denied the request for temporary arrest made by the investigation team.
