Cashmere Superior: do you know what’s behind it?

To tell you something more about cashmere Superiorsr we can only start from very far away: that is, from the pastures of Mongolia, where the excellent raw materials with which these precious yarns are made are found. From who? From Falconerian Italian knitwear company famous for the quality combined with the competitive price of its products.

One of the many pastures of Mongolia.

Our journey behind the scenes begins in distant Asia, for a very specific reason: it is precisely at the source that the great work of the company begins, because its choice to work in the field directly without intermediaries is the keystone that has allowed to keep costs low to the consumer (the famous 149 euros for the cashmere Falconeri). But also a quality choice, because the ability to select the best raw materials is a talent that allows you to focus on the right characteristics, those capable of exceeding the very high standards of the brand. Avoid that the fiber creates the annoying effect pilling (sweater balls), for example, is one of their priorities.

What are the experts looking for then? The fiber Duvetwhich is the thinnest hair of goats Hircus, native of East Asia: the one that allows you to create the perfect thread (among other things Falconeri is the name of a goat with a precious coat widespread in Afghanistan and Pakistan).

But the commitment to research goes hand in hand with that of conscious production, and for this reason the company works side by side with two international organizations that work for the protection of the environment, the territory and the people who work there, both in Asia than in Italy, like CCMI and SFA.

But what happens once this precious raw material arrives in Italy? It is first processed in Biella, an important Italian wool district, to then arrive in Avio where it is transformed into the garments we know well.

Avio, the Trentino town where the Falconeri plant is based.

Here, the Man and Woman Style Offices, directed respectively by Pierangelo Fenzi and Giulia Sartini, are responsible for deciding the design of the collection, working on the latest trends of the season. And, once the model of the garments has been designed and decided Falconeri cashmere, we start with the production, which takes place right on the first floor of the factory.

A team effort that perfectly mixes cutting-edge technology and handmade manufacturing. It starts with the Shima Sheiki, computerized knitting machines that allow large-scale creations, and we end up with the package that sews and assembles the parts of the garment created previously, including the label, by hand. Last steps? Washing, steam ironing and packaging.

The handmade steps in the creation of Falconeri sweaters.

And so our journey into the universe ends Falconeri cashmere. We started from the immense and boundless lands of Mongolia to arrive in Italy, up to the shop (or rather … to our wardrobe) to find out more about this Italian company which, by now, has become synonymous with knitwear for everyone.
