It is planned to issue 15,000 non-fungible tokens with various G-SHOCK models, both existing and created exclusively in a virtual version. The start of sales is scheduled for September 23, however, only Casio customers who have registered on the company’s website will have access to purchase NFTs. The public token sale will begin on September 26th.
Casio invites community members to submit their watch designs, as well as vote for their favorite virtual models.
“We chose Polygon because the solution provides near-instantaneous transactions, making the process of issuing and managing NFTs smooth, convenient, and carbon neutral. Our virtual G-SHOCKs must be accessible, innovative and inclusive, which means that the user experience must be simple and straightforward. So Polygon was the most logical choice for us. The goal is to encourage users to promote the G-SHOCK brand, which is 40 years old this year,” said Takahashi Oh, Casio top manager.
The collection will be available in the US, UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Japan, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Earlier, as part of the loyalty program, Lufthansa launched its NFTs based on Polygon.
