The singer Cassie Ventura 38, confirmed that the rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs suffered an overdose of painkillers in February 2012.
The artist said that day they had a “Freak Off” and went to a sex club before Combs went without her for a party at Playboy. Later that night, she witnessed that she took him to the hospital, where they found that he had suffered an overdose.
“From what he told me, he took a very strong opiate that night, but we didn’t know what was going on, so we took him to the hospital,” she said.
Defense lawyer Anna Estevao asked a long series of questions to suggest that Combs was dependent on opiates and that any abstinence from them would negatively affect her mood.
“He was extremely dependent on opiates, right?” She asked Ventura. “For a while,” replied the ex-girlfriend.
“Did he get very upset when they took his opioids?” Estevao asked. “I think so,” said Ventura.
Combs stated innocent of five accusations, including an accusation of extortion conspiracy, two accusations of sex trafficking, and two shipping charges for prostitution purposes. If convicted, he can take a sentence of even life imprisonment.
The artist, who is the ex-girlfriend of the tycoon, is considered the “most important witness of the case,” according to the rapper’s defense.
