Sean’s defense “Diddy” Combs, 55, mentioned cases where Cassie Ventura witnessed that the rapper had taken her phone after suspecting that she was talking to other men.
Ventura said Combs also took other belongings, such as her passport or watch, when she was angry with her, and often because of other men she had left over the years, Ventura confirmed.
“If I were with anyone other than him,” said Cassie. “I don’t know if I would call it betrayal.”
“When you are not with someone, it is not betrayal. I feel it is a technicity in a relationship of boyfriend and girlfriend. We were not married,” witnessed Ventura.
Defense lawyer Anna Estevao asked Ventura if she remembered Combs taking her phone in 2013 after he suspected she was dancing with singer Chris Brown. Ventura said she didn’t remember much of the incident “besides the fact that I wasn’t dancing with Chris Brown.”
In August 2016, Combs took her phone when she learned she was dating another man. She testified that they were not really together at the time and “they were not in a good time.”
They were in the car on their way to a medical appointment, and when she unlocked the phone, Combs took it and ran out of the car, leaving the scene.
Her mother called the police when she arrived home without the phone, said Ventura, although she recovered the Combs phone later that day. She was not asked to give more details about police involvement.
While Combs had her phone, he used it to call the NFL player she was leaving at the time. The player was not named.
