Cassie’s testimony was only “part of the case,” says former promotor

The singer Cassie Ventura 38, key witness and ex-girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs concluded his testimony on Friday (16), after four days in the Witness Bank.

Despite testifying for almost twenty hours, his report is just a piece of the puzzle for prosecutors to prove that the rapper is guilty in his federal criminal trial, according to Paul Martin, criminal defense lawyer and former promotor.

“I think this is just part of the case,” Martin told CNN . “She is a key element, but it is not the complete case, and there will be other witnesses who will come to corroborate her testimony. There will be other witnesses that will corroborate these free thoughts and whether the force has been used or not. But she is definitely a very convincing witness due to her relationship with Mr. Combs.”

In the coming weeks, prosecutors will still have to prove that the tycoon has been involved in extortion, sexual trafficking and transportation to prostitute himself – all accusations that the rap tycoon declared himself innocent.

“This is a case about a rich (law of corrupt organizations influenced by extortionaires) and whether there is a pattern or behavior of activities that were violent to force a young woman to have sex,” said Martin.

Throughout the trial, the defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo emphasized the belief that Ventura is the most important witness of the case . “This is the demanded interrogation of a critical witness in a trial involving a life imprisonment sentence,” he said.

Combs stated innocent of five accusations, including an accusation of extortion conspiracy, two accusations of sex trafficking, and two shipping charges for prostitution purposes. If convicted, he may face the life of life imprisonment.
