Cast of “Club of Five” meets for the first time in 40 years

THE Cast of “Club of the Five” met over the weekend for the first time in 40 years . The stars of the 1980s ripening film took the stage during the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo event on Saturday (12).

“I feel very emotional and moved to be all together,” said Molly Ringwald, who played Claire in the movie. “This is the first time that Emilio (Estèvez) has joined us. We no longer need to use the cardboard doll.”

Estance, who played Andrew, said that attending the meeting was “something I finally felt that I needed to do, just for myself.” He said it was special to return to Chicago, where they filmed the feature.

The actors remembered the late film director, John Hughes, who is also known as iconic films about teenagers such as “Kitty & Gatões” and “enjoying the sick life”.

“Hughes explained to us the differences between the young and the old, so now it would be time for him to show us where we met at the end, because we are all older,” said Judd Nelson, who played John Bender. “But we won’t have that, which is sad.”

This also revealed that he “passed out” when the cast first met for the movie, as he had removed the wisdom teeth the day before. According to Estons, after the first read the script, Hughes proposed to watch the first cut of “Kitty & Gatões”, which had Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall in the cast.

“I don’t think I went from the initial credits and fainted,” Estèvez said. “I woke up in the final credits and looked at Judd, and he said, ‘I think you’ll be fired.’”

Ringwald, who was 16 when he filmed “Club of Five,” said that he resisted years later with his children was a “crazy experience” that changed his way of being a mother. “If you had told me when I was 16 years old I was once watching that movie with my 10 -year -old daughter and that would change my way of being a mother … It’s just surreal,” she said.

The actress admitted that at the time, her daughter could have been very young to watch the movie. However, talking about the characters with whom his daughter identified herself “opened an incredible conversation.” “And I recently watched the movie with my 15 -year -old twins, the most appropriate age, and I have to say they didn’t get the phone once, which for me … It was a victory,” Ringwald added.
