Every time the british royal family releases a new official photo, the internet turns its attention to it.
And this time it was no different. The official Instagram page of the Prince and Princess of Wales made a post to mark Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom, last Saturday (18).
In the image, Kate Middleton is sitting in a tree next to her three children: Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (7) and Prince Louis (4).
The portrait was taken by photographer Matt Porteous, on an estate in Sandringham, County Norfolk, England.
In a second photo from the same post, the Duchess appears playing with Prince Louis, holding him in her lap. In the caption, the message: “Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours”.
In the comments, the followers were full of praise: “What beautiful photos! Happy Mother’s Day”, “Nice to see these kids being kids, dressed in normal everyday clothes”.
Kate and her children appear dressed in casual clothes – the same as the portrait released on December 13, 2022 to celebrate Christmas, which points out that the three photos were taken on the same day.
The photo posted for Mother’s Day reinforces a more “relaxed” image that has been recurrent in publications of the royal family, with the exception of posts about more “glamorous” events such as official ceremonies.
King Charles also used the occasion to pay tribute to his late mother, Queen Elizabeth.
The monarch posted a photo of himself as a child on the queen’s lap. In the caption, he wrote: “To all the mothers everywhere and those who may miss their mothers today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special Mother’s Day.”
