News hostilities between the forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan occurred on the border of the two countries on Wednesday morning (14/9), Armenia’s Defense Ministry announced, a day after dozens of soldiers from both sides were killed in the worst clashes that have erupted between the two neighboring countries since the 2020 war .
At least 49 Armenian and 50 Azeri soldiers were killed yesterday, each side announced, with the two countries blaming each other for starting the hostilities.
The Azerbaijan used artillery, mortars and small arms in its attack this morning, its defense ministry said of Armenia in a statement as broadcast by the Athens News Agency.
“The situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijani border remains tense,” he added, reiterating Yerevan’s position that Baku had launched an attack on its territory.
