As BleepingComputer points out, this little one-line command can hide in a Windows shortcut file, ZIP archive, batch file, and so on. Such a disguised command, when activated, will crash and corrupt the file system index, instantly incapacitating an NTFS formatted drive.

According to the specialist, the vulnerability has been working since Windows 10 version 1803, released in the spring of 2018. What is most unpleasant, the command can be activated by an ordinary user without any elevated rights and privileges in the system.
