Analyst company CB Insights announced that in 2021, investors have invested in the blockchain like never before in history. This is due to growing consumer interest, experts say.
According to a CB Insights report published on February 1, investors were most willing to invest in projects related to cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
In 2020, the financing of the industry was only $3.1 billion, and in 2021 – already $25.2 billion. In just a year, the industry has grown to 4% of the global venture investment market.
The report highlights that the number of financing agreements for blockchain companies has almost doubled compared to 2020, to around 1,000. Agreements signed early in the life of the project accounted for 79% of the total, which, according to analysts at CB Insights , speaks of a large number of nascent blockchain startups.
Funding for the NFT industry, according to the report, increased by a whopping 12,875% from $37 million to $4.8 billion. A quarter of all funding in 2021 was received by cryptocurrency exchanges and brokerage companies – $6.4 billion, which is 1,180% more than in 2020.
Recall that in January, American comedian Joe Rogan said that the cryptocurrency industry has two ways: either it will fall apart, or it will give people a chance to get rich.
