CCP leader was arrested in Bolivia after Biometry analysis by PF

The arrest of the fugitive Marcos Roberto de Almeida, the “Tuta”, was based on biometrics analysis of the Federal Police database. The flagrant was made in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, last Friday (16), when the investigated was trying to renew the fake charter.

According to PF Director-General Andrei Rodrigues, the fugitive managed Bolivian documents with a false Brazilian identity.

The PF head detailed the transfer operation of the prisoner to Brazil alongside Justice Minister Ricardo Lewandowski and Interpol Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza in Brasilia on Monday (19).

Biometrics was also used in a recent case, arrested on January 8, which vandalized the buildings of the Three Powers Square. Genes were used to certify the participation of the investigated.

Lewandowski said Tuta’s arrest was “a victory for Brazil.” The trafficker had been on Interpol’s international fugitive list since 2020 and operated the financial core of the CCP faction in the neighboring country.

Investigations point to the prisoner as a successor of Marcos Willians Herbas Camacho, Marcola. After being arrested and transferred, he was allocated to the Federal Penitentiary in Brasilia, the same unit where Marcola is.

The Minister of Justice, however, pointed out that “there is no possibility” of the two communicating within the maximum security prison.

The chief of Interpol characterized the integrated operation of “complex and sensitive case”, which “required coordinated performance” and “quick and accurate outcome”.

In Brasilia, Tuta will be in a 6m² cell with bathroom and sunbathing two hours a day. See what the place is like.
