Nintendo wants to further increase the offer of games localized in Portuguese for Brazilians, as explained to CNN the brand’s public relations and events manager in Latin America, Pilar Pueblita, during CCXP24.
As a Mexican, she reinforced the importance of allowing people to enjoy games featuring classic characters, such as Mario, Luigi, Peach and Donkey Kong, in their native language. The executive said that her son, who is 3 years old, loves playing Super Mario Party Superstars in Spanish, for example.
“ANDWe are very happy now, seeing new generations of players, people from my generation who grew up playing Nintendo games in their own language”, said Pilar. “I can tell you from my personal history and my first language is not English, my first language is Latin American Spanish and I can say that it is incredible way I enjoy games in my language.”
Relationship between Brazilians and Nintendo
THE CNN she explained that Nintendo sees the public in Brazil as very passionate about the brand’s universe, with its consoles, games and films. As a pillar, the relationship between Brazilians has already advanced a generation and has been passed from father to son.
“Before 2020 [quando a empresa voltou ao mercado brasileiro]Nintendo already knew that the community of Nintendo fans in Brazil is huge”, he said.
“We want to, you know, serve all these people from my generation, for example, that group that played Nintendo games in the 90s and now, they’re playing with their children, but also serving a new generation of Brazilian gamers.”
Nintendo at CCXP

The Japanese brand set up a stand at CCXP, an event that took place in São Paulo between Thursday (5) and Sunday (8), and offered the public the opportunity to enjoy some of its games, such as Mario Kart Deluxe 8 and Super Mario Party Jamboree, and take photos with characters from the Nintendo universe.
The idea, according to Pilar, is to offer games as an entertainment option, even if the public does not go to CCXP exclusively to play. “QWe want to show them that gaming is also an additional form of entertainment and we want to reach these families,” he said.
