CCXP22: “Dungeons & Dragons” has a surprise for Brazilian fans and a prediction for the World Cup

The panel for the film “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Rebels” was the highlight of the last day, this Sunday (4), of CCXP22, a pop culture fair held in São Paulo.

Actors Chris Pine, Regé-Jean Page, Hugh Grant and Justice Smith were present. Also in attendance were directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, and producer Jeremy Latcham.

In the feature, inspired by a classic RPG game, the actors form an unlikely band of adventurers who set up a plan to recover a lost relic.

The panel brought three unpublished contents of the film: a behind-the-scenes video and two clips, one of them with an “easter egg” that should make fans of the cartoon “Dragon’s Cave” excited.

Actor Hugh Grant made the audience laugh with his British humour. As a joke, he went so far as to say that even though he participated in the feature, he still doesn’t know anything about the universe of Dungeons & Dragons.

But the actor explained why he agreed to participate in the film: “I thought I was going to hate the script, but I loved it. I usually don’t like anything. It’s funny, it’s heartwarming, and it was great to be a part of such a big movie. I’m used to making $5 million movies, this one cost a little bit more.”

During the panel, Grant was informed of the victory of the England team in the World Cup and made a prediction about the final of the competition: “It will be a final between Brazil and England, with extra time and penalties. England wins by one”.

Regé-Jean Page, star of the series “Brigerton” (2020), highlighted that filming took place amid the Covid-19 pandemic and praised colleague Chris Pine for the spirit of leadership: “Chris is very modest, he is a leader incredible. We were away from our families and he always helped us”.

Pine, in turn, promised that fans will feel the energy of the film in a different way: “It has action, it has emotion, but the main idea was to reflect a real match. And I think we did.”

In addition to the four actors present at the event, “Dungeons & Dragons: Honra Entre Rebeldes” features Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis, among others.

The film, which had its premiere postponed in Brazil, should hit theaters in the country on April 13 of next year.
