The cadaveric reports concluded this Monday (6) by Forensic Experts of Ceará point out that the cause of death of the mayor of Juazeiro do Norte, Yanny Brena (PL), and her boyfriend, Rickson Pinto, was suffocation. The information is from the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (SSPDS).
The main line of investigation in the case is that Yanny Brena would have been the victim of feminicide by her boyfriend. Still according to the Civil Police, Rickson would have made an attempt on his own life afterwards.
The Juazeiro do Norte Women’s Defense Police Station is in charge of the investigations. About 20 people have already been heard.
“The SSPDS reinforces that the Civil Police awaits to receive other reports requested from Pefoce about the crime scene and security camera images, in addition to the report of research of substances in blood and urine samples. The unit continues to carry out diligences and hearings in order to elucidate the facts. More information will be passed on in a timely manner so as not to compromise the ongoing police work”, says a note released by the folder.
Yanny Brena’s body had marks of violence. The maid who worked for the couple was the first person to find the bodies.
The two were holding hands. Yanny Brena broke up with businessman Rickson Pinto a few days before the couple was found dead.
Yanny Brena Alencar Araújo was a doctor and was the first woman to chair the City Council of Juazeiro do Norte, in her first term as councilor. She was the sister of federal deputy Yury do Paredão (PL).
Rickson Pinto was from Natal (RN) and Yanny Brena’s boyfriend since 2020. The young man had a daughter from a previous relationship and had already been arrested for illegally carrying a firearm. He also participated in vaquejadas and posted records of events on social networks.
