THE body of Ney Latorraca was held at the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, in the center of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, this Friday (27), and received several famous people who said goodbye to the actor and director. He died on Thursday morning, aged 80.
Friendly actors like Marcelo Serrado, Marcos Frota, Othon Bastos, Maria Padilha and Ary Fontoura they spent some time around the coffin and show their affection for Ney. Edwin Luisi cried a lot when he approached his friend and Lucinha Lins He kissed the actor and director on the forehead.

Life and career
Antonio Ney Latorraca was born in Santos, São Paulo, on July 25, 1944. Son of a crooner and a chorus girl who performed in casinos, he grew up surrounded by the world of art.
He began his career as a child, with a role in a Record radio soap opera. At the age of 20, in 1965, he made his professional debut in the theater, acting in the play “Reportagem de Um Tempo Mau”, by Plínio Marcos This was just the first of many. Only in the 1970s did Torraca appear in major shows such as “Hair” (1970) and “Jesus Christ Superstar”.
In the same decade, the actor joined the fixed cast of his first soap opera, “Escalada”, from TV Globo in the role of Felipe, a rich young man in love with Fernanda, the piano teacher played by Nathalia Timberg.
From there, his career took off. In the 1980s, he gained prominence when he played QueQué in “Skirt Tail ” (1984) and achieved great success with the play “The Mystery of Irma Vap ” (1986), which remained on display for more than 11 years.
In the film “O Beijo no Asfalto” (1981), opposite Tarcísio Meira, he starred one of the first gay kisses in Brazilian cinema .

In the 1990s, Torraca gained another memorable character on the Rio station, the vampire Vlad in “Vamp ” (1991). Diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019, he underwent surgery and appeared to be cured. However, in 2024, the disease returned with metastasis.
The artist left her husband, the actor Ed Botelho with whom he had been married for 30 years.
