The Bahian singer Caetano Veloso 81, participated in a chat at Teatro Clara Nunes, in Gávea, south of Rio de Janeiro, about the book that will be released on May 28th: “Cine Subaé – Writings About Cinema (1960 –2023) “. Among the celebrities who were present were actresses Sophie Charlotte, Camila Pitanga and Betty Faria .
The book, which will be released by the publisher Companhia das Letras (in pre-sale since the end of April) is made up of 64 texts – 46 unpublished in Caetano's collections –, 12 interviews and 76 fragments of opinions about films and directors.
The work, organized by Claudio Leal and Rodrigo Sombra, also includes newspaper columns, interviews, testimonials and comments that reveal the singer's predilections, reflections, soundtrack creations and vast cinematographic repertoire.
The book also features three previously unreleased screenplays for films never made by the composer, who directed two music videos and a feature film, “O Cinema Falado” (1986).
