Celebrities honored by Madonna at a concert in Rio offer thanks; look

The show Madonna on Copacabana beach, on Saturday (4), was marked not only by the queen of pop's successful hits, but also by a series of tributes paid to famous Brazilians. Some of those honored used social media to thank the singer for the memory this Sunday (5).

Most of the tributes took place during the song “Music”, which featured a drum kit made up of young rhythmists from samba schools in Rio de Janeiro and with the special participation of Pablo Vittar . On the screen, while the music was playing, images of famous people like Gilberto Gil , Mano Brown , Marina Silva , Erika Hilton , Daniela Mercury and more, appeared on the screen.

The federal deputy, Erika Hilton , published on his profile on X (formerly Twitter) a thank you to Madonna for the tribute. “What an emotion, honor and joy to be together with so many figures, in this historic moment of 40 years in the career of the world queen of pop, right in the part of the show in honor of Brazil, in this version of 'Music'”.

Businessman, journalist and activist Renê Silva , founder of the newspaper “Voz das Comunidades”, also shared the moment his image appeared on the screen at Madonna’s show. “Still in disbelief that my photo was on the main stage of @Madonna's career,” he wrote.

Daniela Mercury also thanked the queen of pop for the memory. “Wow. What an honor!” she wrote on X.

The Minister of the Environment, Marina Silva , also thanked him for the tribute. “Very honored to have been remembered at the @madonna show alongside Brazilian men and women of immense value, artistic, political and social contributions to our country. Thank you so much Madonna!,” she wrote.

The minister appeared next to the image of Gilberto Gil who also shared the moment on her social networks.

Celebrities who have died were also honored

In addition to the living artists and public figures who were honored by Madonna in her show in Rio de Janeiro, famous people who have died were also remembered. Among them are Marielle Franco politician and human rights activist, Skin football player, Zumbi dos Palmares symbol of the struggle for the liberation of slaves, and Bruno Pereira an indigenous man who was killed in Vale do Javari along with journalist Dom Philips.

During the performance of the song “Live to Tell”, Madonna usually shows famous people and personal friends who died as a result of AIDS and HIV, as is the case with Freddie Mercury . In this part of the show, the queen of pop also showcased Brazilians like Cazuza , Renato Russo , Caio Fernando de Abreu , Claudia Magno and more.
