Celik for Greece: Locking our aircraft with the S-300 is considered a hostile action towards NATO

After Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Hulusi Akar and today Devlet Bakhceli, the baton of the attack against Greece was taken by the representative of Erdogan’s party, Omer Celik, who called the “targeting” of aircraft by the S-300 “hostile action” .

Specifically, Celik said:

“Locking down our aircraft with S-300s is considered a hostile action towards NATO. According to NATO’s rules of engagement, Greece has a hostile attitude towards the Turkish Air Force (TAF). This means nothing to the Turkish Armed Forces ( TSK).Locking the radar against the size and power of the TAF makes no sense. For Greece the issue is related to this: There is an inability to call other countries to present their flags next to them in the Aegean or the Mediterranean in any way. While it is possible to manage this process peacefully with Turkey, there is a complaining style. The problems between Turkey and Greece can be solved at the table, but it is the Greek side that always avoids the table. Turkey is a great diplomatic state. This the issue is not something that can be solved by “locating” on the radars. Turkish diplomacy and tradition has a high resolution capacity and it has solutions. but there was no solution, they brought this situation. Ask the Greek authorities to act with common sense, to avoid threats, harassment or dogfights. To avoid making false assessments against Turkish planes as if they were flying in Greek airspace. If there is an earthquake, Turkey will be with them. If there is an economic crisis, Turkey will be with them. The table must be protected. Greece must also stay away from harassment.”
