For the first time, the CELO migration proposal for a second -level network was nominated in July 2023 CLABS, the developer of the project nucleus. After a series of tests, discussions on management and voting community, migration was completed on March 26 at a block height of 31 056 500.
Having accepted Op Stack from Optimism developers and integrating Eigenda for data availability, Celo retains its low transactions (approximately $ 0.0005). At the same time, Celo can provide a high speed of transactions – about one second. This transition should increase the compatibility of Celo with the Ethrium ecosystem and reduce Celo expenses through the use of the Ethereum infrastructure. The goal is to strengthen the CELO position in the market of finals and decentralized applications (Dapps) oriented to mobile devices.
Thanks to the transition, developers working on CELO will be able to use more liquidity, tools and Ethereum safety infrastructure. CELO developers also study the possibilities of cooperation with large financial institutions and decentralized applications.
Last year, Tether launched the USDT Stablecoin on the official currency when paying gas commissions on the CELO blockchain. Earlier, CELO developers presented Creal Stablecoin, tied to the Brazilian Real Madrid, in addition to their other stablecoins: Celo USD (CUSD) and Celo EUR (CEUR).
