Tiffany Fong has posted more than 20 critical videos about the company on YouTube and other social media platforms since June 2022, Celsius said. Fong several times shared non-third-party insider information that she claims was privately passed on to her by disgruntled former Celsius employees.
In particular, Phong accused disclosure of inside information relating to companies’ offer to buy Celsius assets, the content of audio recordings of commercial negotiations, and the alleged transactional activities of executives, including former Celsius CEO and founder Alex Mashinsky.
The company intends to file a civil lawsuit against a cryptoblogger due to a data breach that negatively affects the company’s business and reputation. Celsius attracted lawyers from Kirkland & Ellis to prepare the lawsuit against Fong. The crypto lender intends to petition the court to ban Phong from publishing any information related to Celsius.
In comments to the media, the cryptoblogger claims that all Celsius accusations are unfounded, as she has not entered into or violated any non-disclosure agreements for any information related to the Celsius case.
“I had no plans to apply pressure, to become an influencer, a citizen journalist or anything else. I just personally lost a huge amount of money because of the Celsius Network and was extremely outraged, so I had to throw out my emotions somewhere, ”said Fong.
Earlier it became known that Celsius notified the holders of depositary accounts from the United States about the unfreezing of part of the funds on the accounts of the custodial program and the beginning of the procedure for their withdrawal.
