Central Bank announces data leak linked to more than 130 thousand Pix keys

O central bank reported this Friday (16) the leak of data linked to 137,285 keys pix linked to the company Abastece Aí, which offers a digital wallet system with cashback for payments.

According to the municipality, the leak It took place between July 1st and September 14th, and involved data such as user name, CPF, relationship institution, agency, account number and type, and Pix key creation date.

In a statement, the municipality states that the leak is linked to “sporadic failures in the systems of this payment institution”, and that sensitive data, such as passwords, financial transaction information or balances, were not exposed.

“The information obtained is of a cadastral nature, which does not allow the movement of resources, nor access to accounts or other financial information”, says the note.

The statement also informs that people who were victims of the leak will be notified exclusively through the institution’s application or internet banking. The Central Bank states that it has taken the necessary actions to investigate the case, and that it will apply sanctioning measures provided for in the regulation.

The leak was the fourth reported by the municipality since the launch of Pix, in 2020. Two of them occurred in 2021, involving companies Bank of the State of Sergipe (Banese) and Access Payment Solutions and another took place in 2022, with the company Logbank Payment Solutions .

The Abastece Aí app was launched by the Ipiranga gas station network in 2016.
