According to the Treasury, the highlights of the collection for the month of October 2022 were the increase in the collection of the Withholding Income Tax (IRRF), a growth in the social security collection (RGPS), due to the increase in the wage bill and greater collection of Simples Nacional, and an increase in revenue from exploration of natural resources, with a real increase of 9.4% in the receipt of special participation funds compared to October 2021.
In terms of expenses, according to the Ministry of Economy, the real increase in total expenses was generated by the increase in mandatory expenses, with emphasis on Auxílio Brasil, the increase in payments of social security benefits, due to the increase in the number of beneficiaries, and increased financial support to states and municipalities.

In October 2022, total revenue increased by R$ 8.6 billion (4.4%), while net revenue increased by R$ 4.7 billion (2.8%), in real terms compared to the same month of 2021. The highlight goes to income tax collection, with an increase of R$ 8 billion, and social security collection, which increased by R$ 4.9 billion.
