Centrão strengthens in discussion on PEC; Lira articulates secret budget

In the midst of discussions about the PEC of the Estoril, Centrão has demonstrated its strength.

After meeting with president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), Arthur Lira (Progressives), president of the Chamber of Deputies, said that the text of the PEC does not pass as it is.

It is likely that the deadline for withdrawal of Bolsa Família from the spending ceiling will be less than the four years foreseen in the text, in addition to a dehydration in the amount of R$ 198 billion.

In response, the stock market rose and the dollar fell, with investors buying the version that Congress will hold back on government spending. But, as economists say, the market is short-sighted and short-sighted, and seems not to take into account the strengthening of physiologism on public accounts.

At the same time that the current President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) blocked resources from the Secret Budget, in response to Lira’s alliance with the PT, the President of the Chamber is already articulating to put the release forecast of the so-called amendments of this year’s rapporteur inside of the Transition PEC, and is still trying to shield the funds for next year’s Secret Budget.

According to the investigation of CNN’s policy analyst, Caio Junqueira, an amendment would be presented to the text of the PEC, which would allow the release of resources in 2022. In exchange, Lira releases the PEC.

More money for Centrão means more money for the political projects of parties in their electoral strongholds, and, as the blanket is short, less money for the rest.
