The founder and CEO of Inviertis said that due to the tense geopolitical situation, investors are increasingly buying property in Spain for cryptocurrencies.
Against the backdrop of a tense geopolitical and macroeconomic environment, investors are withdrawing money from high-risk assets into real estate. Rebeca Pérez, founder and CEO of Inviertis, a property buying service in Spain, noted that capital has begun to flow from assets such as stocks and digital assets to real estate in Europe.
“[Инвесторы] withdraw everything they had in the stock and cryptocurrency markets and invest in real estate to keep their assets. This situation worsened after the escalation of the conflict in Eastern Europe,” Perez said.
The head of Inviertis believes that investors in cryptocurrencies and equities see real estate as a more stable investment that is less volatile and also gives them the ability to easily enter and exit the market due to high demand. According to Perez, some investors buy properties directly with cryptocurrencies, without exchanging them for fiat money with the help of banks. She believes that this decision can be quite attractive for most investors.
“You turn a risky investment into a conservative one, and if you were lucky enough to enter the cryptocurrency market, for example, in 2012, you can buy a house for 200,000 euros,” Perez said.
She acknowledges that there are still hurdles that need to be addressed when doing this sort of transaction with cryptocurrencies. These include calculating taxes associated with a purchase and pricing in bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies due to their volatility.
Unlike real estate sellers, cryptocurrency experts note the growth of the market and the increase in the adoption rate of digital assets. Last week, specialists from the Morningstar investment agency stated that the crypto market provides high profits and therefore has no equal in terms of income among assets.
