CERN’s quantum computing training course to be released in Russian for the first time

The course consists of 7 lectures that allow you to understand quantum technology, and are designed for a wide audience. The educational program was developed by experts from CERN – the European Organization for Nuclear Research. It is the world’s largest high-energy physics laboratory, widely known for experiments at the Large Hadron Collider.

To translate the course into Russian, Russol launched a campaign on the Boomstarter crowdfunding platform. In just the first hour of the campaign, we managed to collect the minimum required amount of 100,000 rubles. Two days after the start, the fees already exceeded the initial financial goal by 230%. Using the additionally collected funds, the authors of the project will make the Russian translation of the educational course more visual and accessible, supplementing it with notes and illustrations.

The Russol Startup School received the rights to translate the CERN course on the basics of quantum computing and freely distribute it among the universities of the CIS. In the fall of 2021, Russol will transfer the course translated into Russian to 25 Russian-language universities free of charge.

Quantum computing allows you to simulate and solve problems that are not currently available even for the most powerful computers. The new technology will help, for example, to optimize many times over such processes as the creation of drugs, the development of new materials.

All translated lectures will be posted in a separate channel on Youtube with Russian subtitles and will be provided with transcripts and synopses. Participants in the crowdfunding campaign will be among the first to access the course.

“An educational course in Russian open for students is a chance to become a pioneer and learn how to create new products and applications based on quantum technologies. We reached the first goal on the first day of the campaign and we are delighted with such a response! By applying these technologies, we can deal with new and old diseases faster, grow more food with less effort, and make near-perfect forecasts of weather and climate change. Our series of educational courses on the latest technologies are designed to inspire future Creators to explore, create, invent new products and applications based on these technologies ”– says Yuri Yartsev, founder of the Russol school and author of a successful crowdfunding campaign on Boomstarter.
