CES 2021: the technology that will enter our homes

The first CES 2021 fully digital opened its virtual experience to audiences around the world. And despite the limitations due to a lack of physical presence in glittering Las Vegas, they were more than 1900 exhibitors representing the entire technological spectrum and over 100 conference sessions that shared visions for a better future in the name of technology.

The product innovations of CES 2021 covered the technology sector in all its forms, fromautomotive to digital health, from 5G to the smart home.

Bosch showed its commitment to sustainability as the first global enterprise to go carbon neutral and introduced an AI-enabled wearable fitness tracker that recognizes and records any type of fitness activity based on repetitive and cycling patterns. And always on the subject of health, OMRON Healthcare announced VitalSight, the first remote patient monitoring service designed specifically for hypertension management,

Canon provided a preview of cameras and printers, Hisense announced the TriChroma 2021 laser TV line and Indy Autonomous Challenge unveiled the world’s first autonomous racing car. Still on the subject of mobility, Intel / Mobileye shared plans to open deployment centers in Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris and Detroit and use home-built lidar sensors.

The news of LG Electronics covered the new generation of the LG PuriCare line for solutions of air management, a reinvented side-by-side refrigerator, which includes a wider window, premium-look interior and Craft Ice functionality, WashTower and advanced cleaning system, as well as the 2021 OLED evo TV and QNED MiniLED TV line.

For entertainment Panasonic announced a technology partnership with Illuminarium Experiences to bring new 360 degree immersive centers to life and launched the latest JZ2000 OLED TV, while Samsung unveiled the four-door Flex Bespoke refrigerator that can be customized for any kitchen, the JetBot 90 AI + robot vacuum cleaner and the new TV line up.

The solutions for the smart home are also great protagonists: Schneider Electric showcased Square D Energy Center, the first Square D connected light switches and the Acti9 Active product, which together offer a unique end-to-end energy management solution for homes in response to sustainability, efficiency and personalization, TCL announced Movetrack, the smart pet tracker and D-Link showcased its latest in smart security technology, such as the 2K QHD Pan – Zoom Outdoor Wi-Fi Camera (DCS-8635LH).

There was, of course, no previews regarding smartphones, wearables, gaming devices and notebooks especially dedicated to smart working. Many of these innovations are already ready to enter our homes and our lives, now more digital than ever.
