Challenge for Russia. US Air Force bomber first landed in Arctic Norway

The US Air Force B-1B Lancer bomber first landed at Bodo Air Force Base, which is located in the Arctic Circle. This was reported by the press service of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa.

It is noted that the plane stopped for refueling during a training mission with air traffic controllers of the US special operations forces, as well as their Norwegian and Swedish air forces.

The B-1B Lancer also flew with four Swedish Air Force JAS-39 Gripen fighters during the flights, the US Air Force said.

The Drive notes that the base in Bodo provides quick access for bombers to the Norwegian and Barents Sea, as well as to the large Arctic region.

“From here, the B-1B could pose a new challenge for Russian operations in these areas, especially for their naval forces based in the northwestern corner of this country. Ships and submarines of the Russian Navy usually pass through the Barents Sea and then through the Norwegian Sea. heading towards Greenland, Iceland, the United Kingdom and the North Atlantic Ocean beyond, “writes The Drive.
