The plenary of the Chamber approved this Tuesday (26) the Provisional Measure (MP) that relaxes rules for the air sector, known as “MP for Simple Flight”.
In the text, a device was included that authorizes the return of free dispatch of luggage of up to 23 kilos on domestic flights and up to 30 kilos on international trips. The proposal goes for analysis by the Federal Senate, which has until June 1 to vote.
The exemption from baggage charges was approved by means of a highlight presented by deputy Perpétua Almeida (PCdoB-AC), whose vote was 273 votes to 148. The base text of the measure sent by the government, in turn, was 294 votes in favor against 90.
Authored by Deputy General Peternelli (União-SP), the report eliminates the need for airline concession contracts and allows companies to stop selling tickets to “undisciplined” passengers who have committed some act “for up to 12 months”. very serious”.
However, it will be up to the civil aviation authority to define the criteria on what is “very serious” and the measures that will be taken.
The measure also authorizes the construction of airfields without prior authorization, removes from the scope of competence of the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) the granting of air services and revokes the obligation to revalidate grants every five years.
In the text, the Executive is also authorized to promote tenders for sponsored concession contracts for eight airports in Amazonas: Barcelos, Carauari, Coari, Eirunepé, Lábrea, Maués, Parintins and São Gabriel da Cachoeira.
