Federal Deputy Professora Dorinha (DEM-TO) told the CNN that the crisis at the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (Inep), the body responsible for the National Secondary Education Examination (Enem), is “very serious”, and that it intends to hear from the institute’s president, Danilo Dupas, this Wednesday (10th ), at a hearing of the Education Committee of the Chamber of Deputies.
At least 30 coordinators resigned this Monday (8). President of the group, the parliamentarian believes that it is urgent to hear the person responsible for administering the exam, which is the main gateway to Brazilian universities, and what clarifications are needed to know whether or not it will be necessary to postpone the exam, scheduled for 21 and November 28th.
The commission should decide whether to summon the Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, as well. The request was made by the president of the Mixed Parliamentary Education Front, federal deputy Professor Israel (PV-DF), as revealed by the analyst at CNN Basilia Rodrigues. The body’s next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday (10).
“Easier” call
For the president of the Education Commission, calling the president of Inep is “easier”, because there is already an approved requirement for the head of the organ that runs Enem to go. “He would come to talk about another matter, but the moment is very urgent,” he said.
According to professor Dorinha, in a conversation with the state coordinators of Inep, it is necessary to detail the facts that led to the resignation.
“Some people say that it involves the security of the exam. This needs to be explained, it is very serious, it has a very big impact on the test, with only a few days left before the exam is administered”, he said.
