Starting this Tuesday (23), the Chamber of Deputies may vote on the provisional measure (MP) that created the Auxílio Brasil income program.
The MP formalizes the exchange of the Bolsa Família income distribution program for Auxílio Brasil – and changes some criteria for receiving it, creating additional incentives related to sports, performance in studies and productive insertion.
The resources for the payment of the amount of R$ 400.00, promised by the Bolsonaro government, depend on the approval of the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) of the Precatório, which is being processed in the Senate.
Brazil Aid began to be paid this month, with an average value of R$ 217.18.
This Monday (22), the Senate plenary debates the PEC dos Precatório in a thematic session.
Approved in two rounds in the Chamber of Deputies, the text faces resistance in the Senate and lawmakers are looking for alternatives to approve the matter and guarantee the benefit for 2022.
MP must define rules for receiving the benefit
The text of the MP refers to a regulation defining the value and other aspects, such as how to fulfill the conditions to receive the benefits, values for inclusion in situations of poverty and extreme poverty, rules on encouraged productive insertion, among other details .
According to the text, the main conditions for receiving the benefit provided for in the Bolsa Família are maintained, such as prenatal care, compliance with the national vaccination calendar, monitoring of nutritional status and minimum school attendance.
The MP creates the Auxílio Brasil and Alimenta Brasil programs to replace the Bolsa Família and the Food Acquisition Program (PAA).
