According to the chancellor, the discussion focused on the situation in and around Ukraine after the Russian invasion and the three leaders agreed that there was no justification for the Russian Federation’s military aggression against Ukraine, while praising the “rapid and a decisive “reaction of the European Union and the package of sanctions voted yesterday, Friday, and represents a” new quality “in scope and depth. They also agreed that additional targeted and effective measures need to be decided.
The chancellors and leaders of Lithuania and Poland also stressed the need to strengthen NATO’s eastern wing.
