Changpeng Zhao to be released from prison in two months

At the end of July 2024, information appeared on the Internet that the former CEO of the Binance exchange, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), was released. However, he continues to serve his sentence and will leave the correctional facility only at the end of September 2024.

Zhao was sentenced to four months in prison on April 30, 2024. More than two weeks after the court’s decision, CZ was still at large.

The former Binance CEO reported to prison on his own to serve his sentence in early June 2024. On July 24, information began to spread online that Zhao had allegedly been released.

It was refuted. However, commentators statedthat CZ will be released on August 30, 2024.

However, this is not entirely true. CZ would have been released at the end of August, provided that he had been sent to prison immediately after the verdict was announced on April 30.

According to the US Bureau of Prisons (BOP) website, Zhao is scheduled to be released on September 29, 2024. This was first reported by the publication Protos:
