The actor Channing Tatum revealed that to play Slater King in the film “Blink Twice ” had to create thoughts that he wishes he would never have to reveal to another person.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said that to prepare for roles he tries to create connections with the character. “It’s the first time I’ve played someone [assim]”, Tatum said of the billionaire who invites a waitress to spend a vacation on his private island. And he added: “He is a psychopath.”
Zoë Kravitz — actress, director of the film and Tatum’s fiancée — was also interviewed on the website and said that the atmosphere of mystery on the island is reminiscent of a scenario that, for her, is the most frightening one she can imagine.
“A la Lord of the Flies, I was trying to find an environment where the characters would have to stay and deal with the crumbling of power dynamics,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
“Blink Twice” follows the guests of tech billionaire Slater King for a vacation on his private island. At first, everything seems to be going well until problems such as disappearances create a climate of mystery that ends in bloodshed.
“Wild nights blend with sunny days and everyone is having a great time. No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality. There is something wrong with this place. She will have to find out the truth if she wants to get out of this party alive,” says the film’s synopsis.
In addition to Channing Tatum, the cast also includes Naomi Ackie, Alia Shawkat, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Christian Slater, Kyle MacLachlan and Geena Davis.
The film hits Brazilian cinemas on August 22, 2024.
