Charléne finally returns home: she will continue her convalescence in Monaco

For some time there had been talk of Charléne Wittstock’s return to Monte Carlo and, finally, the day has arrived: in fact, the princess returned to the principality on the afternoon of Saturday 12 March, keeping faith with the words of Prince Albert who had defined his wife’s return home as imminent. Charléne, as stated in the official press release issued by Palais Princier, has left the Swiss clinic where she has spent a long convalescence since her return from South Africa to finally return to Monte Carlo.

It is here, as stated in the note, that Charlene will spend the rest of her hospitalization, together with the prince and his two children, Jacques and Gabriella. The princess remained, as we know, away from the Principality of Monaco from March to November 2021, detained in South Africa for an otolaryngological problem that prevented her from being able to travel by plane and return home. In recent months, various voices have alternated about the princess’s state of health, above all due to a certain confidentiality that has led both the Palazzo and Alberto to close in a silence that many have interpreted as a concealment of a more serious clinical picture than did not seem in the beginning.

“Their Serene Highnesses – reads the press release – joyfully share the following information: in agreement with her doctors and given the encouraging result of the treatments, the princess will continue her convalescence in the Principality, with her husband and children by her side . The next few weeks will allow her to recover further in health, before gradually resuming her official commitments. To achieve full recovery and given their need for peace and calm, the princely couple asks for the utmost respect for their family and private life “. In short, Charléne seems ready to make up for lost time: after missing her wedding anniversary and the party for Jacques and Gabriella’s 7 years, it seems that she will be present at the celebration of the birthday of the Prince, who will turn 63 on the 15th. March.
