She smiles at her husband Alberto, reassures the children Jacques and Gabriellawho put their hands to their ears when the cars pass close by, award prizes: after more than a year of absence, Charlène of Monaco has returned to attend an official event. All new look, with a platinum pixie cut, Charlène appeared to be still a little worn out by the diseasebut confirms the recovery that the subjects of the Principality had been hoping for for some time.
Wittstock, in fact, returned to Europe last November, after a long stay in South Africa, her native country. She left in May 2021 for charitable initiatives, but then an ENT infection prevented her from returning home, at least this has always been the official version of Palazzo Grimaldi. The 44-year-old, wife of Albert of Monaco since July 2011, would also have been in danger of life, after having undergone two delicate surgeries on which the Rocca have always been very vague. \

A more than understandable confidentiality, but which at the same time has fueled all kinds of gossip, from the one about an alleged drug addiction of Charlène, who a few days after returning home had continued convalescence in a Swiss clinic, to those of an imminent divorce from Alberto. The rumor of her hypothetical unhappiness, moreover, has been ridden for eleven years now.

Charlène, according to the latest rumors, would have reached an agreement with Alberto to avoid divorce. The former swimmer would no longer want to live at Palazzo Grimaldi, which for her would be full of bad memories, better Roc Agel, the family’s hilltop residence, far from the chatter of the Palace and, above all, from Princess Carolina, with whom Charlène would not have never tied.

A hypothetical divorce, however, would not have suited either the image of the Principality or Charlène. The crux of the matteraccording to the well-informed, would be the children of princes, Jacques and Gabriella, seven-year-old twins. Journalist Bertrand Deckers, an expert on Monegasque royalty, explained to Closer than in case of separation Charlène could lose custody of the children that “They belong” to the Principality and not to the mother. If the former swimmer decides to divorce, in short, she would have to leave without them. An unacceptable thing for a mother, even considering that they are two small children, who have suffered a lot from her for being away from Charlène. “They’ve been suffering from their mother’s absence all these months and having to say goodbye to her again is painful for them, who are still small. But we have always been a united family and, even if no one can take the place of their mother, we try not to let them lack all the love they deserve and need “, declared Prince Albert the day after his wife left for her Swiss.

Now that their mum is back on their faces there are the usual smiles. They hadn’t seen each other for some time.
