Charlène of Monaco: “That’s why I can’t go home”

He spent the last few months in South Africa, Charlène Wittstock, forced to stay away from her husband Alberto and twin sons Jacques and Gabriella. “An otolaryngological infection”, they had made known from the Principality of Monaco on the eve of the Formula One Grand Prix last May, unable not to give explanations for an absence that had begun to feed (again) the gossip about an alleged crisis with her husband.

Now it is Charlène herself who returns to the subject, explaining in detail the reasons that keep her away from home.

In an interview with the South African magazine News24, Charlène revealed that she had undergone an operation for maxillary sinus lift, a bone graft that is carried out to be able to make implants in the molar area. After the operation, an infection involving the ears took over, hence the inability to move: his auditory system, at the moment, could not withstand a pressure exceeding 20,000 feet.

The princess misses her family a lot, especially her children, with whom she keeps in touch for now through long video calls. The children went to visit her in early June with their dad, and the prince is planning another trip, even though the ongoing pandemic makes long-range travel much more difficult.

The forced distance prevented Charlène from celebrating the 10th wedding anniversary with Alberto, but not from thinking it. «He is the main pillar of my life and my strength, without his love and support I could not have overcome this painful moment. It was a challenge for me, I miss my husband and my children “, the outburst in early July, again in News24.

To see them all together, it will probably take a while longer.
