The royal fashion blog UFO No More he tried to solve the mystery, claiming that it is the princess Charlene of Monacoqueen of this special ranking topped the list with an estimated total of 739,541.52 euros. The princess showed around 105 new pieces of clothing throughout 2022, with the average price per piece of 11,377.56 euros – winning the title of leaders.

Last year, the Monegasque royal returned to Monaco after a period of malaise that began in 2021, which led her to spend an extended stay in South Africa before returning to the Principality for the final months of recovery. UFO No More calculates the estimated cost of royal wardrobes based on three categories: «Pieces that remain UFOs (Unidentified Fashion Objects)»; «Pieces that are identified and whose cost can be found»; «Pieces whose designer is known but the design is personalized or whose price is unknown». For the 2022 ranking they have been reviewed 19 real womenincluding the Princess Sofia of Sweden, Countess of WessexQueen Maxima of the Netherlands, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Queen Letizia of Spain, the Duchess of Sussex and Princess Beatrice.

Among the royals who have spent the more modest figures there are the princess Madeleines of SwedenPrincess Eugenie and the princess Stephanie of Luxembourg.
